Voluntary registration walkthrough
Identify rights and burdens in your deeds
This means clarifying exactly what you own and what you can do with it, plus any rights you have to use land owned by others, and any rights other people have over your land.
Some rights have to be shown on the land register map, and these must be shown on your property plan. Others don’t have to be shown on the map, but we still need you to tell us about them.
Please read our guidance on
- rights and the title sheet
- burdens (or ‘encumbrances’)
- common areas
- cadastral map
For detailed guidance on rights and burdens when submitting a voluntary registration, read the voluntary registration-specific criteria.
